Thanksgiving Point Annual Pass Giveaway - no, this is not a joke.

Thanksgiving Point is hard to explain to someone who has never been there. It's a museum/farm/garden/yummy food/concert/golf/shopping place thing. It's all of the finer things in life concentrated. Luscious landscaping, delicious food, beautiful shopping and thoughtful excursions. It's classy, informative and accommodating. It's just a place you want to be, trust me.

The other night, Thanksgiving Point had a holiday blogger event and Kalli invited me to go with her and her Fatty Fat Fat baby boy. The first part of the evening was held in the beautiful green-cabinetry kitchen. We sampled little bites from Harvest restaurant. Rock shrimp nachos with sweet chile sauce and then a little bread bowl of butternut squash soup. Sadly, they didn't give me enough. The nachos are definitely worth a trip back (date night Ethan darling?).

Following delicious samples, we got to chat with the resident florist and she put together a little paper white bulb craft for us. A simple soup can filled with soil and a paper white bulb and then simply tied with some burlap. Inexpensive and easy to do at home. For someone like myself that is intimidated by nearly any craft, I felt confident in being able to reproduce this at home.

Next up was a tour of the Emporium, which is one of the premier home and clothing shopping destinations in Utah Valley. We learned the in's and out's of how the Emporium is bought for and the work that goes into it. All of that information was fascinating to me. I guess I never realized what a big deal that type of retail can be. We did get to go down into the basement and take a look at the inventory that was there. Rows and rows of beautiful dishes, holiday decor, furniture and home accessories.

The evening ended with a trolley tour of the holiday lights, which were spectacular. I am excited to take my little boys to see them soon. And after I take them to see the lights, we will head back to see the reindeer in front of the Emporium. And maybe a spot of hot chocolate.

Thanksgiving Point gave me an annual pass for attending the evenings festivities and also one to giveaway.

  2. Since I am YOUR MOTHER and BIRTHED YOU, I qualify to be included in the 50% discount the next time we all go there for some super-activity as a family. So I'm not entering for the pass, I just wanted to make it clear I will benefit from it anyway.
